What stays on your device

Your saves, settings and your answer to the gameplay stats question are stored on your device only. This is needed for the game to work and needs no consent. If you play on Steam with Steam Cloud on, Valve syncs your saves under the Steam privacy policy.

Gameplay stats (only if you said yes)

The game sends gameplay events to JL Games to find what confuses players and fix it: session start and end, minutes played, tutorial steps finished or skipped, depth reached, first sale and first purchase, prestige, quests, dimensions, artifacts, reaching the end of the demo, wishlist button clicks, controller type, game errors, and your language, UI size and screen size. Each event carries a random install ID stored on your device, a session ID, the game version, the platform (web or Steam) and your country. Your IP address is not stored. No name, email, Steam account or payment data is collected.

Legal basis

Your consent: Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, and § 25(1) TDDDG for storing the install ID on your device. Saying no changes nothing in the game.

Hosting

The stats are received and stored by Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA, as processor under its data processing agreement. The database is located in the EU. Cloudflare's network can handle requests outside the EU; transfers to the USA are covered by the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework.

How long it is kept

12 months, then it is deleted.

Changing your mind

Settings > Gameplay Settings > Share gameplay data. Switching it off stops sending at once and deletes everything sent from your device.

Your rights

You can ask for access to your data, correction, deletion, restriction of processing, a copy of it, and object to its processing (Art. 15–21 GDPR). Email julianlaunches@gmail.com and include your install ID if one is shown below. You can also complain to a data protection authority, for example the one where you live.
